They say a mother’s labor is never done, but we can make tiny improvements to make spaces like the kitchen run more smoothly as homeowners. We’ve looked at some of the most valuable and practical characteristics of some Murden kitchen accessories in honor of the hard effort put in around the home by moms all across the world and in the hopes of making the lives of many mothers reading our blog a little bit simpler. Cooking will be a breeze with these recommended accessories for the kitchen. And you’ll be wondering why you didn’t use these devices sooner!

FOOD PROCESSOR

My first must-have accessory in the kitchen is a food processor with interchangeable discs and blades. This item may be regarded as a cook’s closest friend on its own. You can shred block cheese and slice stick pepperoni with it (both of which are much cheaper than buying pre-shredded cheese or pre-sliced pepperoni).

You may also use it to quickly chop or slice any number of veggies and prepare mayonnaise, peanut butter, or whipped cream. Food processors are fantastic for preparing pates and dips and smoothing and creaming deli-style tuna fish. You can make delicious hummus or guacamole in minutes, which is excellent for our guacamole-deviled egg appetizers! They’re simple to clean and produce better results than premade deli and grocery store meals.

Food processors are an essential kitchen item that will save you a lot of time, and once you start using one, you’ll find that you can save time in your cooking in various ways.

You’ll want a strong, long-lasting one that can handle a lot of use over time. Cuisinart is the brand I would most strongly suggest. A mandoline, another instrument that accomplishes a few duties better or faster if you make smaller amounts of food, is an excellent alternative to one of these machines for slicing.

COOK ON A LOW SETTING

A slow cooker, commonly known as a crockpot, is my next must-have accessory in the kitchen. Aside from the energy savings of cooking a roast in a slow cooker rather than in the oven, this little gem is a terrific way to use up leftover meats and vegetables — toss them in with some stock, let it stew all day, and voila! Soup! It’s also the quickest way to cook a chicken for casseroles or pot pies that require cooked chicken – while also making your chicken broth! Season the chicken, place a peeled onion in the cavity, add 2-4 cups of water, and simmer for 8-10 hours on low.

Place a colander in a basin (large enough to hold the amount of liquid in the crockpot) and drain the contents of the crockpot into it slowly. Next, carefully raise the colander and drain the chicken, then lay it in a big, empty basin or on paper towels to chill until it can be handled quickly (a little more liquid will drip off).

The meat will fall entirely off the bone, the skins will easily peel away, and you’ll have plenty of cooked chicken as well as several cups of homemade broth to use in a variety of recipes. In addition, the broth can be refrigerated before use, and the fat can be skimmed off the top to make it even healthier. From soups to beans, many crockpot foods can be frozen and reheated on the stovetop or in the microwave for weeks!

Another advantage of crockpot cooking is that it may easily fit into the schedule of a busy family, especially if various family members need to eat at different times. They can each get a hot supper without having to put in the effort of cooking many times if you use this simple cooking method.

COOKER FOR RICE

An electric rice cooker is another of my must-have kitchen accessory, and it’s the one that gets the most pushback from fellow cooks since it appears unusual or excessive. Rice is a pantry staple for any budget cook, and it’s likely to be used frequently. This accessory is the most excellent and most energy-efficient way to cook your rice to absolute perfection every time, whether it’s white or brown (my choice)

Consider how many times your rice has boiled over, or been overcooked and burned, or dried up due to a lack of liquid, or taken up valuable burner space, causing you to have to wait to prepare another component of your dinner. Rice cookers eliminate every one of these stumbling blocks. They come with precise measurements marked on the cooking vessel, so there’s no guesswork – add X scoops of rice, fill the container to the X level, place it in the cooking chamber (most have an outer and removable inner room for ease of use and cleaning), cover, and press the “cook” button. It’s a time-saving accessory in the kitchen.

Making oatmeal for breakfast (or, if you’re like me, occasionally dinner) is another excellent use for your rice cooker. Again, there are many different recipes available; read through them all and choose one that makes the type of oats you prefer (some like it soupy, some firm and chewy, some in between the two).

Drop your items in, shower, and get ready for work, and you’ll have a delicious, affordable, and nutritional breakfast prepared in 20 minutes or less. Although you may get these low-cost Aroma variants, I would urge you against cutting corners here. As someone who has lived in Korea, I can tell you that not all of these are created equal.

THE JUICER

If you don’t already have one, get one right away! These are absolute must-have accessories in the kitchen. If you already have one, put it to good use! Not only are juicers helpful in squeezing the lemon, lime, and orange juice when needed in recipes, but they may also be used to juice vegetables. They save you muscle and extract the maximum juice possible, something you could never achieve by hand squeezing citrus fruits alone, and they allow you to extract juice from plants that an old-style citrus juicer would never be able to press.

Furthermore, you won’t have to worry about seeds or pulp getting into your juice, and the residual pulp can be composted. Fresh-squeezed orange and grapefruit juices taste and are nutritionally better than anything you can buy in the grocery store. You’ll never go back to store-bought juice after tasting fresh juice. And giving fresh juice to your guests will get you raves for the invigorating and refreshing sensation they enjoy! SPATULAS MADE OF RUBBER

In the kitchen, having a nice set of rubber spatulas in at least three sizes will save you both time and money. It’s included in the list of accessories for the kitchen. When utilizing the last mayonnaise or pouring batter from a baking mix you just created, no food will go to waste. Rubber spatulas are great tools when spreading condiments on your bread or a toasted sandwich.

They spread considerably more efficiently than butter knives and can complete the task in one go. So when you’re creating sandwiches for a large group, a perfect spatula can save you a lot of time!
